Approach, attack and conquer them and emerge the winner in the game of survival in the digital age. Excel X and Xtend Technologies presents TELE CODER - something unheard of in technical festivals. Welcome to this all unique Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) coding event !!!

Submission for the event ends on December 12th 2009.

Interactive Voice Response is an interactive technology that allows a computer to detect voice and keypad inputs. An IVR allows customers to access a company’s database via a telephone touchtone keypad or by speech recognition, after which they can service their own enquiries by following the instructions. IVR systems can respond with pre-recorded or dynamically generated audio to further direct users on how to proceed. IVR systems can be used to control almost any function where the interface can be broken down into a series of simple menu choices.

The following are some of the more common uses of an IVR:

  • Mobile (Pay as you go Top up)
  • Telephone Banking (Balance, payments, and transfers)
  • Mobile Purchases (particularly for mobile content, such as ringtones and logos)
  • Caller identification and routing
  • Order Placements (Credit Card Payments)
  • Airline (Ticket booking, Flight arrivals, Flight departures, Checkin)
  • Weather forecasts
  • TELE CODER IS NOT AN ON-THE-SPOT EVENT
  • Participants need to create or improve an existing concept or idea of a telephony service which solves a real world problem
  • The solution should be implemented on the Xtend IVR Toolkit Developer Edition Software
  • The completed solution has to be submitted for evaluation at the venue of Excel X on December 12th of 2009
  • Top 5 teams will have to do a presentation of their solutions on December 13th of 2009 based on which prizes will be decided
  • Registered participants can download the Xtend IVR Toolkit from the below link ( The toolkit also includes the tutorial of the software in which coding needs to be done )

  • Individual Event
  • A participant can have as many number of submissions as per wish but cannot win more than a prize

    Xtend IVR is an Interactive Voice Response Toolkit in use by prominent Value Added Service Providers, Banks, Government Institutions and Private organizations for automating their telephony applications. Implementations include Tele-banking, Mark/Rank Enquiry system, Package Status Enquiry, Outbound Voice Campaigns and Automated Polls. The Developer Edition of Xtend IVR is freely downloadable from the Xtend IVR website and will work on any computer system running Windows XP or above.
