Engineer the swiftest line tracer ROBOLT to win the race...

Build a completely autonomous robot which traverses the given track in the least possible time

  • Maximum of three members in a team
  • Robots can start in any orientation, but must follow the path in the direction specified by the judges
  • Complaints about the grip on track surface will not be entertained
  • Time taken by a Line Follower to complete the track will be the recorded as lap time.
  • Teams may obtain a time slot for practice. The number of practice slots is limited and will be served on a first-come first-served basis. Any other request for using the track will not be entertained
  • Decision of the judges will be final
  • Track: Track width will be 3cms and black on white. The bot will encounter a gate as well as a bridge on the path.

    The gate: This will have a front surface of 25cm x 25 cm and white in colour. The bot will have to blow a horn and wait at the gate for 10 seconds for it to open.

    The bridge: This will be 40cms wide and deprived of track with the surface white in color. An angle of elevation of 30 degrees will used to raise the bridge.

  • Robots must be autonomous. Data links to off-board computers allowed, but no tele-operation, in other words, no human-operated remote controls
  • The machine shall not exceed 25 cm in overall length, 25 cm in overall width
