Paper Presentation is the thing for you.

Science and technology will stagnate without the flow of newer ideas .In order to keep the wheel of development spinning it is our responsibility as students of science and technology to contribute to future breakthroughs. Paper presentation is the means by which you can share with the world your findings. Your paper can contain work on optimization or modification of any existing technology .The main purpose of the technical paper is to highlight your original thinking and finding.

The event will be held in two rounds :

Round 1

  1. Submission of abstracts (format has been specified)
  2. Any one of the mentioned Topics can be used
  3. Based on the papers’ evaluation, the best 10 papers will be selected for the final round
  4. Selected teams will have to submit their complete papers before Excel

Round 2

  1. The paper submitted will have to be presented during the event
  2. The teams will get 12-15 minutes to present their paper
  3. It will be followed by a question and answer session

TEAM FORMATION

  • Teams can have a maximum of 2 participants
  • No participant can be part of more than one team
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from a college
  • GENERAL RULES

  • Papers should cover technical or engineering aspects of subjects reasonably within or related to the areas with which the author is familiar, either from courses, hobbies, summer work, or other similar experiences
  • Work should be in the specified format
  • Participants are required to send an abstract of their entry to the mail id mypaper.excelx@gmail.com
  • The subject for the mail should be Paper:Topiccname_collegename
  • Do not download and present a published paper from the internet. These will be disqualified.
  • The deadline for submission of abstracts is 4th December 2009 , 11PM
  • Shortlisted teams will be informed via the Excel website
  • Violation of any rule can result in rejection of paper
  • The organizers reserve the right to change/update the rules of the contest at any point of time and will do their best to inform the participants of the same. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the teams to keep themselves updated

    General Rules of the Format

  • The paper should either in form of Word Document or PDF (preferable)
  • The information in the bracket is in the format : (Font theme, Font size, Font effects, alignment/placement of text)
  • The page size should be A4
  • The word limit of the abstract is 150-300words and that of the full paper is 6000 words
  • The line spacing should be 1.5
  • The numbering for the main titles should be 1,2,3 and so on
  • The numbering for subtitles should be in 1.1(title.subtitlenumber)etc and so on. It is not compulsory to have subtitles in a title
  • The paper should necessarily have an abstract and its first title should necessarily be Introduction as shown above
  • The last two titles of the paper should necessarily be Conclusion and References
  • The other recommended titles are Literature, Hypothesis, Approach, Experiments if any, Model Development if any, Analysis, Results and Remarks. Deviations from these titles are allowed
  • Title fonts: Times New Roman, 14 font size , Bold and underlined, left alignment
  • Sub Title fonts: Times New Roman, 12 font size , Bold and Italic, left alignment
  • Paper should be incorporated with Figures, Tables, Expressions, Appendix if any etc
